6 Poly Ibadan students die in auto crash:

 
Six students of The Polytechnic, Ibadan in Oyo State were confirmed dead in an automobile crash which occurred at Motunde, on Ibadan-Oyo Road at about 6:00p.m on Monday.
Thirteen other occupants of the 18-seater bus sustained varying degrees of injury. The injured were taken to St. Patrick Private Hospital and General Hospital in Oyo.
But the remains of the dead students were deposited at the morgue of Adeoyo State Hospital, Yemetu also in Ibadan.The students were said to be on their way from Oyo to Ibadan when the accident occurred. Arising from a burst tyre, the bus reportedly somersaulted several times and hit the road divider, killing six passengers on the spot.
The inscriptions on the bus showed that the student belong to the Department of Quantity Surveying of the institution.Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Adekunle Ajisebutu, confirmed that six persons died while 13 others were injured.
Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) in Oyo State, Mr. Yusuf Salami, confirmed the incident but said the details of the accident were still being compiled.
