Matriculation Put On Hold As UI NASU Members Strike

The matriculation programme already scheduled for Thursday, 10th March, 2016 for the newly admitted students of the University of Ibadan has been put on hold.
This was as a result of the strike action embarked upon by the members of the Non Academic Staff Union of universities (NASU), University of Ibadan chapter challenging the university's decision to tamper with their salary.
"However, rather than the matriculation programme already slated for Thursday, an emergency University's Senate meeting will hold", a very reliable source stated.
The meeting is expected to address the various crises currently rocking the entire system of the university.
It should be recalled that the Students' Union also had a protest over the weekend to voice out the students' grievances about the poor state of their welfare.
It was also rumoured that the leadership of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is in deep crisis as a result of leadership tussle and the allegation that its election was rigged to favour some quarters.
